Australia's Ecosystem!
Austalian
Wildlife lives in a very special ecosystem
that is unlike any other in the world. We have many animals that
are endemic to this huge island. We may not have the glamorous "Big
Cats" of Africa but we do have some wonderful animals that
have developed their own way to survive the harsh environment of
this great continent. Austalian Wildlife have evolved in isolation
and so have a unique and individual character.
As well as the Animals you will also find a great collection of
Australian plants, trees, Geographic features, habitats and people
working in the environment.
Many million years ago Australia was almost completely covered
in rainforest, although much of this dried out as Australia moved
towards the warmer climate. At present Australia is the driest continent
on this earth with the majority of the population living round the
coastal fringe.
Australia has a huge range of temperatures from north to north.
The tropical north with it's classic wet seasons down to the cool
temperate climate along the south coast and Tasmania. This variation
gives great diversity to the flora and fauna.
We have collect quality images of over 5000 different species of
mainly Austalian Wildlife and 2500 different species of plants that
live in this great land.
Over the 200 plus years of European settlement plants and animals
from around the world have been introduced into the Australian Environment,
more often than not with disastrous results. We have many images
that reflect the ever-changing nature of this environment.
One of the great benefits of having such a strong nature focus
is that we work with these beautiful images of Austalian
Wildlife. We hope that you enjoy our great collection. If you
