ANT Photo Library specializes in images of the Wildlife and Environment of Australia with a good collection of Animals from the rest of the world to complement our Australian collection. Please see subjects covered to get a more detailed view of the range of subjects that we cover.

We represent the work of a select group of committed Natural History and Scenic Photographers from around the world who submit their best work to us. We tightly edit their submission taking just those images that we believe are marketable and will enhance the libraries collection.

We do not buy images outright except in very exceptional circumstances and purely at our discretion. We never sell the copyright of an image we only license the rights to use an image.

All new submissions will immediately be re-edited for inclusion on this site.

Our business relationship
We have standard agreement with all our photographers. Both parties sign this agreement which lays out the nature of our business relationship. The agreement is designed to protect the rights and sets out the responsibilities of both parties.

The agreement specifies that you have asked us to market the rights to your images worldwide via our website.

Photographers are paid quarterly – February, May, August and November on paid-up sales. We send you a Recipient Generated Invoice or sales report with a cheque paid in Australian Dollars.

We make a once off disbursement of $5 for each image that goes onto the web site. This helps cover administration and processing costs. This is deducted from your sales reports when they are paid. You do not pay this up front.

ANT Photo Library Pty Ltd does not accept responsibility for lost or damaged transparencies, however caused. If a photographer wishes to insure their own material, then they should arrange their own policy.

If you are interested in becoming a contributor to ANT Photo Library
In the first instance please register on the site if you have not already done so, then with a good description of your interests in photography and your level of technical excellence, all information that you give us is handled in line with our Privacy policy.

If you have the means to make reasonable low-res scans of a few of your images please do so and attach then to the form before submitting it. Your low-res scans need to be Jpeg RGB files at 500 pixels along the longest edge at 72dpi . Please send no more that 10 images at this stage. Make sure that each image is clearly labeled and with your name and e-mail address, using "File info" if you wish.

Once we have received your application we will be touch and probably request that you send us an initial batch of 50+ transparencies or digital files, see our Digital Guidelines, for our evaluation.
